Grandma got a good Roxie fix

Thanks for coming and staying for a week, Mom! It was really nice to share a good amount of our normal daily life with you. Roxane has asked about whether you would “be back today” quite a few times in the last few days – she had a great time, and I know she enjoyed your stay, too.

Life is good!

Roxane and all,

Life is good! There are so many little things that you learn each day, that it is hard to keep track. New words, now there are new sentences – a couple of the latest new words that blew me away – pronounced perfectly – were, ‘chocolate’ and ‘helicopter’, and they were in a sentence, too. ‘Daddy, I want chocolate’ and ‘Look at the helicopter’ – awesome…

Crawling, now!

Roxane,

Oh, my goodness, how long it has been since I have updated this… A week ago you started crawling and you are a champion, doing laps up and down the hall! Michelle and I have moved us all to San Antonio, Texas, to be close to all of your family members that live here. You have aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that all love to spend time with you. You started “school” and seem to love it! Miss Connie and the other teachers at Laurel Heights think you are the cutest baby, and they are right! I have so many things to catch everyone up with… You are starting to eat real food, love rice and beans, asparagus, peas, carrots, squash, and sweet potatoes. Tofu was a big hit, too, but we have only given you a bit to start out, and keep an eye on your earlier soy problem. You are so cute when you – c’mon everyone try it together – put your fingers on your lips, and run ’em up and down, and BbBbBbBbBbBb… HeHee! You have been to the beach in Port Aransas, we visited several hot springs in Colorado before leaving, played in the mountains… I miss it, but San Antonio is a beautiful city, and we are having fun. We are about to buy a great house, in an awesome neighborhood, and can’t wait to settle into life, here. Work is fun – I am a UNIX Sys Admin at Rackspace – a very fun, and growing company. Michelle is working as a councelor for a private practice, and is getting busy with new clients. I am rambling, and need to go home to see you! So many pictures to load here… about 6 CD’s I think. I love you!

Dinner Alone

Roxane,

I put another roll of photos up, and these are some of the best we have, so far – especially the ones of you grinning! Marc and Kjirsten had a great time babysitting you, last night, and Michelle and I went out for dinner, alone, for the first time since you arrived. We missed you! Most of the conversation was, “Roxane did…, today, …and isn’t it cute when she…!” We had a nice time, but we missed ‘little choo-choo’ (not sure where that one came from). You can sit anytime, Marc and Kjirsten – you looked right at home! Michelle has started running a few days a week (slowly), and has been feeling really good. The three of us have been to the Rec Center a few times in the last week, and Roxane has fun splashing and being held near the hottub – the socializing, exercise, and warmth seem to make her sleep really sound those nights. (Yes! Baby sleep trick #1 has been found!) Not much else is new – can’t wait to see everyone in San Antonio over Easter weekend!
